BUT WHAT IF I STILL NEED TO SUBMIT BACKGROUND CHECKS FOR My Members?

We recognize that certain situations may require you to submit a background check on behalf of an individual. (Ex: a nursery worker that does not use email). While we are looking at ways to provide that functionality for you in a more secure fashion, here are two suggestions on how you might do so now.

(1) Add or change the email address of the individual to a secure email your ministry has access to. Once you've done so, order the background check, and you'll receive the background check email. (Screenshot below). Fill out the form on behalf of the applicant, then change the email in your ChMS to what it was before.

(2) Opt-Out of this Update.

If your ministry runs background checks for individuals regularly, you can opt-out of receiving these new update using the form below.

Again, before you make this choice, we would strongly advise you consider how much you "really" need to run background checks on behalf of individuals. (Consider - while it's easier to use just one password for everything, we've all seen how that can quickly lead to identity theft). While it is sometimes more "convient" to simply gather an individual's information, is it worth the risk to your organization?

A nEW sEcURE pROCESS

Previously, you could collect information on behalf of an individual and submit a background check for them (right).

However, this meant collecting sensitive applicant data, such as Social Security Number and Driver's License Number. In today's world, doing so is a significant security risk for any organization.

With this update, you can now ONLY email a link to a background check to an applicant. From there, the applicant MUST fill out the form themselves.

This not only safegaurds your ministry and aligns with industry security standards, it also helps avoid costly mistakes such as typo's when collecting information from applicants.

BACKGROUND CHECKS ARE GETTING AN UPGRADE!!!

Integrated Background Checks through Protect My Ministry are becoming faster, safer, and more intuitive than ever before!

So you're ready in advance, this update will occur the week of August 22nd. We'll notify you once it's available!

Here's what to look forward to!

  • IMPROVED SECURITY WITH A NEW REGISTRATION FORM

Your team will no longer need to collect, enter, and store consent forms with sensitive applicant data, like SSNs, which is a serious liability for churches. This will now be tracked and securely maintained by Protect My Ministry.

The only information your team needs to order a background check is the person’s name and email address and Protect My Ministry will take it from there!

NOTE: This security update means indiviudals must complete the new background check form themselves. (In other words, you cannot collect their private information & submit it for them). If this is a concern for your ministry, CLICK HERE to learn more.

  • GET MORE DONE WITH BATCH ORDERING

The biggest time saver for you and your staff is the ability to order 1 or 100+ background checks at the same time with the simple click of a button.

  • SIMPLIFIED BACKGROUND CHECK ORDERING PROCESS

We have streamlined your order page to show only what you need to start running checks immediately, allowing you to order a background check
    in just 5 clicks!

  • BETTER PROCESS, FEWER COSTLY MISTAKES

Another benefit of the new registration form is that applicants are required to confirm SSNs with a second entry. This simple but important addition minimizes typos that can result in unexpected expenses from re-ordering background checks due to incorrect information.

  • NEW REPORT NOTIFICATIONS

Would you like to receive an email notification when your applicant completes the online form? Or an email each time a report is complete? You can now set these up with the help of Protect My Ministry once your new integration is live.

  • COMPLIANCE MINDED FEATURES

The new integration has numerous built-in compliance features geared toward lowering your ministry’s exposure to risk. This includes FCRA Client Certification reminders, new consent form tracking and storage, the ability to use your own Disclosure and Authorization language and removing risk through the safe storage of Personally Identfiable Information (PII).

  • NEW RISK ASSESSMENT TOOL FOR FLAGGING REPORTS

Users will be able to review completed reports and assign an “accept,” “accept with conditions,” or “reject” recommendation for each volunteer.

  • CUSTOM MENUS AND PACKAGES

No matter your ministry’s needs, your ordering screen can be customized with as many or as few background check packages as needed. A la carte ordering is no longer available with the new, unlimited custom packages. To create individual packages that include the services and products you need, please contact Protect My Ministry at support@protectmyministry.com or call us at (800) 319-5581.

Excited? So are we! These integration updates will provide you and your team with the best user experience for ordering background checks!
